A gas with a temperature of 98.0 degrees Celsius has a volume of 88.0 ml. The volume is increased to 100.0 ml. What is the new temperature in degrees celsius

    T2 = 421.76K or 148.61°C

    Explanation:

    T1 = 98°C = (98 + 273.15) K = 371.15K

    V1 = 88mL = 88cm³

    T2 = ?

    V2 = 100mL = 100cm³

    1mL = 1cm³

    From Charles Law,

    V1 / T1 = V2 / T2

    T2 = (V2 * T1) / V1

    T2 = (100 * 371.15) / 88

    T2 = 37115 / 88

    T2 = 421.76K

    T2 = 148.61°C
