In terms of whether it is one of the 4 biological molecules, G3P or glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate is basically a carbohydrate with an associated phosphate group. It is a necessary molecule needed ultimately for the production of glucose, during the Calvin cycle of photosynthesis.
