The tilt of Earth axis is responsible for a season change. Those areas that are tilted toward the sun, get more sunlight and have more daylight hours, so the temperature is higher. And vice versa, those areas tilted away from the sun get less sunlight and have fewer daylight hours. For instance, when the Southern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun and the Northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, this leads to summer in the Southern hemisphere and winter in the Northern hemisphere.
