Which represents the electron configuration of an atom of an alkaline earth metal?

    Which element do you need? There valence electrons would end in s because there in the s block. For Be - 1s^2 2s^2 because the atomic number is 4 = valence electrons. They should all end in s^ just filling different orbitals. Such as 2s^2 or 4s^2
