A laboratory procedure calls for making 600.0mL of a 1.1M KNO3 solution. How much KNO3 in grams is needed?

    0.6 dm3 x 1.1 dm3

    = 0.66 Mols required

    If density of water and KNO3 are said to be equal:

    then mass = mol x rmm

    = 0.66 x 101.1

    = 66.73 grams (to 4 sf)
