    368.3 g

    Explanation:

    Given dа ta:

mass of chlorine = 0.568 Kg

    sodium chloride = 936 g

    mass of sodium=?

To solve this problem first of all we will write the chemical equation:

    Na + Cl2 → NaCl

    Balanced chemical equation:

    2Na + Cl2 → 2NaCl

    Formula:

number of moles = mass / molar mass

first of all we will calculate the moles of sodium chloride,

    number of moles = 936 g / 58.44 g/mol

number of moles = 16.061 mol

The number of moles of sodium required in this reaction is equal to the number of moles of NaCl produced, which can be seen in balance chemical equation.

Now we will compare the moles of sodium chloride and sodium

    NaCl : Na

    1 : 1

    2 : 2

    16.016 : 16.016

Now we will calculate the mass of sodium from moles

number of moles = mass / molar mass

number of moles * molar mass = mass

    16.016 mol * 23 g/mol = mass

    mass = 368.3 g
