    Jaden's mistake is ' convert electrical energy to kinetic energy'. He should have said 'Kinetic energy is converted to electrical energy'. Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by a moving object. Coal, natural gas and petroleum are used to power turbines. The spinning turbines then possess kinetic energy. Turning a turbine about a magnet/magnetic field then converts kinetic energy to electrical energy.
