how does the movement of particles in a stick of butter differ from the movement of particles in a dish of melted butter

    In melted butter, because it is in liquid form, the particles are moving faster because they are warmer and they move freely with no structure. In a stick of butter, the particles just vibrate in a structured pattern because the stick of butter is a solid.
