If aqueous solutions of pb (no3) 2 and nacl are mixed, which ions, if any, are spectator ions?

    The complete reaction would be:

    Pb (NO ₃) ₂ (aq) + 2 NaCl (aq) - - > PbCl ₂ (s) + 2 NaNO₃ (aq)

    Only substances in aqueous state would dissociate. Thus,

    Pb²⁺ + 2 NO₃⁻ + 2Na⁺ + 2Cl⁻ - - > PbCl₂ + 2Na⁺ + 2NO₃⁻

    The spectator ions are the ions that both appear in the left and right side of the reaction. Therefore, these are Na⁺ and NO₃⁻ ions.
