A sample of ideal gas is in a sealed container. The pressure of the gas is 565 torr torr, and the temperature is 3 ∘C∘C. If the temperature changes to 69 ∘C∘C with no change in volume or amount of gas, what is the new pressure, P2P2P_2, of the gas inside the container

    Answer: 700 torr torr

    Explanation:

    Since the volume is constant

    We use

    P1/T1 = P2/V2

    P1 = 565torr torr, T1 = 273+3 = 276K, T2 = 273+69 = 342K

    565/276 = P2/342

    Simplify

    P2 = (565*342) / 276 = 700.1 torr torr
