What is the charge on a hypothetical ion with 25 protons and 22 electrons?

    Protons have a positive charge.

    Neutrons have a negative charge.

    Therefore, the number of protons - the number of neutrons equals your charge.

    Charge = P - N

    Charge = 25 - 22 = 3

    The charge is + 3
