Which determines the state of matter for any material

How far apart the particles in a material is and how fast they are moving.

Solid - the particles are close together and arranged in organized rows that are barely moving jist vibrating in place.

Liquid - the particles are farther apart and move around or over each other.

Gas - particles are very far apart and are moving very quickly hitting each other as they move through the space they are taking up.
