    Given:

    speed - 1400 km/hr

    fuel burning rate - 40.7 L/min

    To find:

the amount of fuel the jet consumes on a 1500. km mission.

    solution:

time taken for 1500 km mission = time taken for 1400 km + time taken for 100 km

    = 60 min + (60/14)

    = 60+4.3

    = 64.3 min

time taken for 1500 km mission is 64.3 minutes.

as the missile consumes 40.7 litres of fuel per minute.

fuel consumed for 1500 km mission = 64.3*40.7

    =2617 litres

hence the total amount of fuel consumed in 1500 km mission is 2617 litres.
