If there is a loss of 4.36 * 10-5 g of mass in a nuclear reaction, how many kJ of energy would be released? Recall that c = 3 * 108 m/s.

    We use the formula E=mc^2

    So

    E = (4.36 x 10^-5) x (3 x 10^8) ^2

    E=3.924 x 10^12 J
