    First of all, heat is thermal energy formed by molecules moving. Heat moves in any direction where it is colder, then balances out the temperature.

    Explanation:

    Temperature influences the direction of heat flow the same way gravity influences the direction of water flow. Just as water always flows downhill, temperature always flows from hot to cold, until the two "sides" are in equilibrium (the same).
