The inner canyon is close to a freshwater lake.

The difference in the climate of the specific regions on the Grand Canyon can be due to the topographical structure of the landform. The north rims of the canyon are reasonably exposed to precipitation, while on the other hand, the inner canyon have little to no vegetation due to insufficient exposure to sunlight.
