Why can you only add coefficients and not subscripts when balancing chemical equations? subscripts are not powerful enough to change the equation. adding subscripts adds more molecules to the equation. adding subscripts changes the meaning of the equation and the chemicals being used. submit rewatch?

    Subscript are apart of the original equation. You can not change the subscripts because that's what makes the equations. Only coefficients change to balance.
