    Explanation:

    1. If two solutions are separated by a semipermeable membrane, the water molecules will move through the membrane starting from the solution that has the low concentration of the solute towards the solution that has a high concentration of the solute. Therefore, if solution A has 1.31% starch and solution B has 7.48% starch, it can be seen that solution B has a higher concentration. This is why the water molecules will move from Solution A to Solution B.

    2. Like exercise 1, solution C has a concentration of 6.75% NaCl and solution D has a concentration of 11.7% NaCl. Therefore, with solution D having a higher concentration, the water molecules will move from solution to solution D.
