    The balanced equation is given as;

    14KMnO ₄ + 4C ₃ H ₅ (OH) ₃ → 7K ₂ CO ₃ + 7Mn ₂ O ₃ + 5CO ₂ + 16H ₂ O

    14 : 5

    The formed moles of CO ₂ = 0.886 mol

    The stoichiometric ratio between CO₂ and KMnO₄ is 5 : 14

    Hence,

    moles of CO₂ / moles of KMnO₄ = 5 / 14

    0.886 mol / moles of KMnO₄ = 5 / 14

    moles of KMnO₄ = 0.886 mol x 14 / 5

    moles of KMnO₄ = 2.4808 mol

    hence, consumed KMnO₄ moles = 2.4808 mol
