An isotope is formed basically when the amount of neutrons are different than the amount of protons in the nucleus. Therefore, we'd get a variation in the atomic mass (number of neutrons and protons). This is what makes isotopes different.
So, the answer would be: Isotope atoms differ in neutrons.
