What sort of elements have similar reactivity in the periodic table?

    In term of whether or not the elements are within rows or columns. Elements in groups or columns have similar chemical reactivities in the periodic table. This can be explained primarily by the fact that they possess the same number of valence electrons and can form the same number of chemical bonds among other atoms.
