We should never dispose pieces of any metal down the drain. We may dispose waste liquids, but not solid metals. They are also considered as hazardous materials and should be thrown to appropriate bins. Calcium or magnesium metal are reactive, flammable solids which could irritate the skin upon contact. Throwing these metals down the drain would be hazardous and careless.
