How many moles of compound are present in 33 grams of KMnO4?

    Atomic mass of Potassium, K = 39.1g/mol

    Atomic mass of Manganese, Mn = 54.9g/mol

    Atomic mass of Oxygen, I = 16g/mol

    First find the molar mass of KMnO4, that is

    KMnO4 = 39.1+54.9 + (16) 4

    Molar mass of KMnO4 = 158g/mol

    Hence,

    1 mole of KMnO4 = 158g

    Let x mole of KMnO4 = 33g

    x = 33/158 mole

    x = 0.21 mole
