According to the collision theory what two factors must be true to successfully result in a reaction

    1) Molecules need to collide with sufficient energy, aka activation energy, so that chemical bonds can break. 2) Molecules need to also collide with the proper orientation. A collision that meets these two criteria makes a chemical reaction.
