    Answer:During ordinary chemical reactions, energy may be released into the environment or absorbed from the environment. The type of chemical reaction that release energy into the environment is called exothermic reaction while the one that takes energy from the environment is called endothermic reaction. The quantity of energy released or absorbed during ordinary chemical reactions is always very small compare to the one released during nuclear reactions. There are two basic types of nuclear reactions, these are fission and fusion reactions. The energy released during these two processes are so great that they can be used to power the generation of electric current.
