The value of ksp for silver carbonate, ag2co3, is 8.10*10-12. calculate the solubility of ag2co3 in grams per liter.

    Solubility constant is calculated by the product of the molar solubility of the ions in a solution of a certain compound raise to its stoichiometric coefficient. For this case, the dissociation reaction would be:

    Ag2CO3 = 2Ag+1 + CO3-2

    Therefore, the solubility product would be expressed as:

    Ksp = 8.10*10-12 = [2Ag]^2 [CO3]

    8.10*10-12 = 2x^3

    x = 1.59x10^-4 mol/L

    1.59x10^-4 mol/L (275.75 g / mol) = 0.044 g/L
