If an atomloses an electron (electrons are negative), the atombecomes 'less negative' which means 'more positive'. Atoms are normally neutral (no charge), so losing one ele ... ctron gives it a positive charge. When an atom has a charge it is called an ION. So the atombecomes a Positively Charged Ion.
