What is the expected product when acetaldehyde and hydrogen react in the presence of platinum

    formation of alcohol or primary alcohol occur in this reaction. Reduction occurs when acetaldehyde react with hydrogen that is addition of hydrogen occur in acetaldehyde compound, the double bond between oxygen and carbon breaks down and addition of hydrogen with oxygen occur forming hydroxyl and also addition of hydrogen occur at carbon results in formation of alcohol.
