The solar wind carries mass away from the Sun at a rate of about 1.5 million tons per second (1 ton = 1000 kg). At this rate, how many years would it take for all of the Sun's mass to escape?

    In one second, 1.5 million tons (1.5*10^6 tons = 1.5*10^6 * 1000kg = 1.5*10^9kg) of sun is carried away by solar wind

    Mass of the sun = 1.989*10^30kg

    Time for all of the sun's mass to escape = 1.989*10^30/1.5*10^9 * 1 sec = 1.326*10^21 sec * 1 year/7.57*10^8 sec = 1.75*10^12 years
