Do oxygen atoms become more stable or less stable when oxygen forms compounds? Explain

    They become more stable because they achieve a full outer shell of valence electrons with the magic number of 8.

    Oxygen atoms does become more stable when forming compounds as either ionic or covalent compounds are formed, leading to a full valence shell. a full valence shell is obtain due to giving (ionic) or sharing (covalent) of the electrons
