Aldehydes derive their name from the dehydration of alcohols.
Aldehydes contain the carbonyl group bonded to at least one hydrogen atom.
Ketones contain the carbonyl group bonded to two carbon atoms. Aldehydes and ketones are organic compounds which incorporate a carbonyl functional group, C=O
