If a normal alkane contains 15 carbon atoms, how many hydrogen atoms does it contain?

    General molecular formula CnH2n+2

    2n+2 = 15

    2n=13

    n = 13/2 = 6.5

    rounding off we get 7 hydrogen atoms.
