Riya rides his bike 63 miles in 270 minutes. What is his average speed in miles per hour? Be sure to include the equation for speed in your answer.

    270 minutes = 4 hr and 1/2hr

    63 miles = 63/4.5 = 14 miles per hour

    Making the speed 14mph

    Equation = h = 4.5

    (4h x 4h) + (1 x 311/100) = 60

    = 4h x 4h + (1 x 311/100) = 60

    = 16h^2 + (1 x 311/100) = 60

    = 256h + (1 x 311/100) = 60

    = 256h + 14 = 60

    = 270h = 60

    = h = 4.5
