Explanation:
Before a firm starts to use a barcode it has to come up with the GS1 Identification Keys which are the numbers that represent the company's barcode. When the GS1 identification key is assigned, the firm acquires the GS1 Company Prefix that will enable the firm to create the identification keys for its goods, locations, trade items and coupons which will be unique to it worldwide.
