A dipeptide bond is a bond that connects two amino acids. It is produced by losing H and OH atoms from the two amino acids as boxed in red. The OH atom is lost in the glutamic acid, while one H atom is lost from lycine. The dipeptide bond is also boxed in red. The lost H and OH atoms are formed in the product side as one water molecule.
