The more electronegative the element the more reactive it is and the more strong the bond would be
Because it would want to complete it's outermost shell by all means

The electronegativity of the halogens decreases in the order F > Cl > Br > I. And, the bond energy of the H-X bond also decreases in the same order from fluorine to iodine. Thus, as the electronegativity of the bonding atom increases, the bond energy also shows an increasing trend.
