How can you know if a substance is an acid or base what indicators would we use?

    We can use a universal indicator

    So if we add the universal indicator on the substance we need to observe the colour change

    colour in acid=red or orange or yellow

    colour in neutral=green

    colour in alkali or base=blue or violet

    So observe the colour change and catagorize it as acid, baseor neutral
