No of moles = mass/molar mass
mass = 12.64 g
molar mass = 40 g/mol
no of moles = 12.64/40
no of moles = 0.316 g

To calculate moles, use the formula Mol = Mass / Mr ... Mr of NaOH is 23 + 16 + 1 = 40 ... Mol = 12.64/40 = 0.316
