    oxidized substance is Cu

    Reduced substance is Ag

    Oxidizing agent is Ag

    reducing agent is Cu

    Explanation:

oxidation is an increase in the oxidation number of an element, reduction however is the opposite.

The oxidation number of a neutral or free element is 0.

From the equation Cu is oxidized to Cu (NO 3) 2, as the oxidation number of copper increased from 0 in Cu to + 2 in Cu (NO 3) 2.

Ag is reduced as the oxidation state is decreased from + 1 in AgNO3 to 0 in Ag

Hence the oxidizing agent is silver and reducing agent is Cu.

oxidized substance is Cu and reduced substance is Ag.
