    CS₂ + Cl₂ → CCl₄ + S₂Cl₂ [unbalanced equation]

    CS₂ + 3Cl₂ → CCl₄ + S₂Cl₂ [balanced equation]

    ∴ the mole ratio of Cl₂ : CCl₄ is 3 : 1 (option D)

    CS2+Cl2-->CCl4+S2Cl2

    Left side: C=1 S=2 Cl=2

    Right " ": C=1 S=2 Cl=6

    Needs to be balanced, how many Cl2 do you need on the left side so it matches the right? 6 total on left to equal the 6 on the right, have 2 already so times by three. Now you have 3 Cl2 and 1 CCl4
