If you move two objects with opposite charges apart, what happens to their potential energy? Explain your response.

    Potential energy decreases as two oppositely charges particles approach each other because of the tendency of oppositely charges particles to be together. Conversely, as two particles of the same charge approach each other, potential energy is increased because of their "unwillingness" to be together.
