Entropy is a measure of disorder or randomness of a system.

The trend of a system toward disorder or randomness is stated by the law of disorder of a system. or second law of thermodynamics.

This law states that the particles of a system are more likely to exist in in a high state of disorder (mixed) than in a low stated of disorder (not mixed but in a beautiful order). The analogy of entropy as a measure of the papers scattered randomly across the desk, indicates that the papers will not get back in order unless you put a lot of energy to put order.
