Indicate the types of forces that are involved between the solute and solvent when forming a homogeneous solution between CH3CH2CH2CH2CH3 and CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2CH3.

    These two components will form a homogeneous solution mainly due to London dispersion forces. These are weakest attractive intermolecular forces that cause nonpolar molecules to condense to liquid. Larger and heavier molecules, such as the given molecules, experience a stronger attractive forces than smaller ones. Thus making it possible for these molecules to form a homogeneous solution.
