    pH = - log[H⁺]

    8 = - log[H⁺]

    [H⁺] = 10⁻⁸

    if this concentration of hydrogen ion increases to 100 times

    New hydrogen ion concentration

    [H⁺] = 10⁻⁸ x 10²

    = 10⁻⁶

    pH = - log[10⁻⁶]

    = 6

    new pH will be 6.
