    Ba^2 + = Barium ion [Cation]

    Cl- = Chloride ion [Anion]

    Explanation:

    Ba (OH) 2 + HCl = BaCl2 + H2O is the reaction that happens.

You make an ionic compound which is soiuble in water Barium Chloride. The cation is Ba^2 + = Barium ion, Cl^ - = Chloride ion

Postive ions are cations and negative ions are anions thus

    Ba^2 + = Barium ion [Cation]

    Cl- = Chloride ion [Anion]
