How was the noble gas argon discovered

    Argon was discovered by sir William Ramsey, a Scottish chemist, and lord rayleigh, an English chemist, in 1894. argon makes up 0.93%of the the earth atmosphere making it the third more abundant gas. argon is obtained from the air as a by product of the production of oxygen and nitrogen.

    Argon was discovered by Lord Rayleigh and Sir William Ramsay in 1894. It was isolated by examination of the residue obtained by removing nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water from clean air.
