    Molar mass of Ca = 40 gram/mol

    Molar mass of C = 12 gram/mol

    Mass mass of O = 16 gram/mol

    Molar mass of CaCO3 = [40 + 12 + (16 x3) ]

    = 100 gram/mol

    Mass % of Calcium = Ca / CaCO3

    = 40/100

    = 40%
