How would a solution that is labeled 5.0 molar be similar to one labeled 5.0 molal?

    They might share some similarities but definitely they do not mean the same. Both are expressions of concentration of a substance. Molarity is the number of moles per unit of volume of the solution while molality is the number of moles per mass of solvent. In this case, they both are similar in having 5 moles of the substance.
