Explain why ions become solvated in aqueous solution.

    Ions become solvated in aqueous solution for the main reason that the action has considered to have a partially negative charge while on the other hand, the anion has a partially positive charge. By definition, solvation is the chemical process wherein these anions and cations get surrounded by solvent ions.
