The law of conservation of mass and how it applies to chemical changes

The law of conservarion of mass states that mass can neither be destroyed nor created, but only changed into other forms. So through chemical reactions, the chemical makeup may change but the amount of substance is still equal to the sum of the amount of original chemicals before the reaction.
